The recruitment process
Identify the relevant stages in the process of recruiting someone Identify the type and number of staff needed Prepare job description and person specification Advertise the job via relevant media Evaluate applicants and shortlist Carry out interview/testing Evaluate interviews and appoint Feedback to unsuccessful candidates

Job Description This will outline the main roles and responsibilities that the successful applicant will undertake . A job title will also be provided. The job description will clearly show the applicant what is expected of them Try to find a current job description online for a job your would be interested in doing

Person Specification This document will provide information on the skills, experience, qualifications and qualities that the business would like the candidates to have. These will typically be split up into Essential Desirable What's the difference?

Task Using your own knowledge and mobile technology find for a job of your choice research what ARE THE ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE SKILLS. Think about the skills, qualifications, qualities they Must have and what you would like them to have

Cost of Recruitment At every stage of the recruitment process a firm is going to incur cost. Look at the whole recruitment process and Describe with examples how costs have been incurred at each stage

Training All employees will have training at some point in their working life an it will always come at a cost. Training cost – resources and providers etc Loss of output – whilst training, you are not working Employees who you have trained may leave! You then have to pay to train someone else
