Background for this call – EULF Transportation Pilot
Up-to-date flow of road safety data between National Road Authorities and private map providers Commercial map providers like HERE and TomTom need road network data that are consistent accurate up-to-date In the Transportation Pilot, INSPIRE standards are used to get geospatial data from public administrations Significant reduced error rates in maps of from 25% to 7%, and Road Authorities (SE, NO) upgraded from quarterly to daily updates to map providers Commercial map providers able to move from disparate national processes to more standardised processes in different EU countries Published in December 2016 The EULF Transportation Pilot has established an up-to-date flow of road safety data between road authorities and private sector map providers in Norway and Sweden, and supporting the aims of the Intelligent Transport Systems Directive and drawing on INSPIRE. Partners include ELF project (Norwegian and Swedish Mapping Agencies), Norwegian and Swedish Road Authorities, ERTICO, TomTom and Nokia/HERE, private navigation system providers. Significant reduced error rates in maps of ~72%, For entire Swedish road network, Compared situation before 2013 (start operational TN-ITS service) – with situation 2015, Based on quality test by field driving on statistical reliable sample sizes and correct methodology eulf/og_page/eulf-transportation-pilot
