Every team starts with 5 points.
When a question goes up, discuss it with your teammates.
When you agree on an answer, and EVERYONE on the team can explain/justify it, the team leader should raise their hand.
The SI Leader will choose one person on the team (randomly) to share the answer and justify it.
The person chosen then decides on how many points to wager. Wager more if you are very confident, wager less if you are not so confident.
If the answer and justification is correct, the team gets the points wagered added to their team total. If the answer or justification is incorrect (in any way), the team looses the points they wagered.
The winning team gets a prize – designated by the SI Leader.

Remind them that you are the final arbiter on correct vs. incorrect answers.
Let them know that 1 or 2 of the questions you do in class will be on the exam!
Give teams a reasonable time period to work on the question- 2-4 minutes depending on the question.
If a team has 2 or fewer team members present, you can combine them with another team if they want.
If a team misses a question it goes to the 2nd team whose hand went up. Give preference to teams that have not had a chance to answer a question when you choose 2nd responses, or when 2 or more team’s hands go up at about the same time.
If no team gets the correct answer, then have teams at least share whatever they think and then discuss it in class.
Keep track of points and me the winning team names and place. Be sure to write down the names of the people who were there on the winning teams.
