Growing Success May 2010 – Ministry released new policy document called Growing Success Addresses the assessment, evaluation, and reporting of student achievement for all students in Grades 1-8 Includes new reporting schedule and report card templates for the 2010-2011 school year

Changes to Reporting Implementing new Ministry Elementary Progress Report Card and new Report Cards this year Dates: – Elementary Progress Report Card – Early November 2010 – Term 1 Report Card – February 15, 2011 – Term 2 Report Card – June 27, 2011

Elementary Progress Report Card Some changes to note: 1.Six Learning Skills/Work Habits instead of nine Responsibility Organization Independent Work Collaboration Initiative Self-Regulation

Elementary Progress Report Card Some changes to note: 2.Comments on student strengths and next steps for improvement for all Learning Skills/Work Habits and some Subject Areas 3.Indicates if student is Progressing Well Progressing Very Well or Progressing With Difficulty in Subject Areas

Elementary Progress Report Card Some changes to note: 4.Parents/guardians and students will have space to comment 5.Parent-teacher conferences will occur earlier this year – November 11 and 12, 2010 **No grades appear on the progress report
