What is Climax? “The most important or significant moment of the dance, which usually happens near the end” “the portion of the composition given primary emphasis or representing culmination; the most intense or highest point in the development or resolution of choreography.

How can a climax be created?
A build up in intensity of: Actions Dynamics Content

Highlights Important moments (there can be more than one)
Drawing the audience attention to specific movements, held positions or phrases within the dance. The bits that the audience will remember the most. Create by a build up of dynamics.

Examples Where is the climax in the nutcracker? Is there more than one?

Planning a Climax In your two groups you must plan for a climax within your dance. This may be hard to do if you haven’t properly planned your dance on paper.
