VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop
This assignment is almost like the one you made the first day at the 5’th semester. However, the assignment is different from last time, as the group now have to work at the school area.   The work Each group will work with a given building of the school as shown in the matrix. The group will do the registration and after produce a PPT, which is presented on video and send to the teacher. All group members are supposed to talk english in the video. The video should be minimum 5 minutes. The PPT should as minimum answer the given questions from 1-16 to pass this assignment. Both PPT and video (MP4 format) are to be uploaded on the TCU-VIA homepage under submitting at latest Important: Datasize for the files and for upload at the homepage is maximum 96 Mb/file   Grades are given on the 4 parameters: 1) Language skills 2) Presentation 3) Overall comprehension of subjects 4) Attendance   Good luck Here are some ideas on how you can do the registration. It will of course also depend what kind of building you register. Some of the questions are a bit difficult to answer, but try your best. Maybe you will have to guess in order to find an answer. The examples of building registration can help you a lot especially the pictures are good for documentation. The examples are to found at the homepage.

Questions 1 Take pictures and describe what you see. 2 Can you find some design errors? 3 Registration of write the name of the building and where it is situated. 4 How are the loads transmitted down to the ground? (from the roof to the foundation)? 5 Describe the built up of the roof? (construction / ventilation / slope / overhang) 6 Describe the built up of the floor deck? 7 Describe the built up of the walls. 8 How are the windows and doors mounted? 9 Are there enough daylight in the rooms? 10 How much is the story height (floor to floor height) and how did the architect come to this particular height? 11 How is rain water led down from the roof and balconies? Are the service ducts hidden or visible? 12 What is the consequence for their lifetime and for risk of damage in the building? 13 Is there garbage chute and/or container place? 14 Does the building meet the current demands? 15 How to ventilate the building? Does it meet to the current demands? 16 Are there any Fire Evacuation Plan showing escape routes?
