Thank You Families For All The Support you have given me throughout the last four weeks. Our third graders have done a lot in the past four weeks. The school administered the language fluency test called DIBELS ( Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) this past week to see how well they can read and retell stories. The children have been placed into their respective mathematics groups according to their academic competency. The children learned about the basics of how to write a narrative. This writing process is in the works as we speak. I will mention what will come in the next week.
What's Coming Up?
We, the third grade team, will start teaching next week social studies, science, and art by rotating through the five classrooms throughout the week. We will teach our own classes our respective courses and then the rest of the week, the children will rotate through all third grade classrooms.
Rotations
Monday - I will be teaching Social Studies! The topic is geography and human settlement.
Tuesday - Art and Ms. Zeigler will teach children how to draw self-portrait.
Wednesday - Science and Mr. Gilbert will teach about moonlight.
Thursday - Another dose of Science taught by Ms. Petersen about the phases of the moon.
Friday - Math Games concerning Adding and Subtracting with Ms. Lolofie.
