It’s ok to read through a dialogue as an example. But then FORGET the dialogue. Why not set up a table in the classroom? Hire a student to be the waiter, and find some willing customers.

The right start… Greet your students at the door.

Use positive reinforcement.
Catch your students being good. Write positive classroom rules. Rules Use quiet voices when doing group work.

Challenge your students.
Present activities that are age and level appropriate. Don’t beat a dead horse. Plan for multiple activities. Don’t allow quick workers to be idle. Try more tasks and less talk!

Rewards?? Praise students individually for good work, serious effort and on task behavior. Kids like stickers and ink stamps on their papers. Work as a class towards a goal such as a night without homework, a soccer game, a movie, or games instead of instruction.
