ISLAM is not a new religion but the final culmination and fulfillment of the same truth that ALLAH revealed through all his prophets before prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). For a fifth world population, ISLAM is not a personal religion, but a complete way of living.
9
On the other hand the major 5 in ISLAM is :
PILLARS OF ISLAM The five pillars of ISLAM are the framework of Moslim's life, they are testimony of faith (shahada), prayer (salat), giving zakat, fasting in the month of ramadan, and the pilgrimage to Makka (Hajj).
10
1- The Testimony of Faith or SHAHADA
The Shahada is saying with conviction “ LA ILAH ILLA ALLAH, MOHAMAD RASOUL ALLAH”, which mean “There is non worthy of worship except Allah, and Mohamad is the messenger of Allah”. The Shahada is the most important pillar of Islam. (Say it from your tongue and your heart)
11
2- Prayers (Salat) Moslem perform 5 prayer a day as a duty towards ALLAH. Each prayer doesn`t take more than a few minutes to perform. Prayer in ISLAM is a directed link between the worshipper and the God. There is no barriers (intermediaries) between the God and the worshipper. In a prayer a person feel inner happiness, peace and comfort, and the God is pleased with him or here.
12
The prophet mohamad (peace be upon him) said: {Billal, call (the people) to pray, let us be comforted by it}. Billal was one of Mohamad`s campanion who was charged to call people to pray. Prayers are performed at dawn, noon, mid afternoon, sunset and night. All Moslems may pray almost where such as in field, offices, factories or universities.
13
3- Giving Zakat (Support of Needy)
To pay annually 2.5% of one's net saving on which a year has passed as a religious duty to the poorer sections of the community. The goal behind the obligation of this charity is to revive social support among moslems. Through it, the hearts of the rich are cleansed from greed, and the hearts of the poor are cleansed from hate which they may feel towards the rich.
14
4- Fasting in the month of Ramadan
Every year of the month of Ramadan, all moslems fast from dawn to dusk (sunset to sundown). Abstaining from food, drink and sexual intercourses. Fasting develops a sound social, patience, unselfishness and will power.
15
5- Pilgrimage to Makka (Hajj)
To perform Hajj once in a lifetime, if one is financially and physically able. A person`s Islam is deficient without any of these pillars
16
THANKS Thank you for your time and I pray and ask the one and only creator that Moses, Juses and Mohammad (peace be upon all of them) has asked us to worship the one true God “ALLAH” To help all of us understand what does Islam mean and what does it command
