can games change the world?
$220,000 social goods on yoville… can games change the world? We just took an early step here with our “sweet seeds for haiti” program in Farmville. Players can purchase special crops of which 50% of the proceeds went towards the welfare of children in Haiti. In 2 weeks, we raised a gross amount of $830,000. We have the program on now so go to FV and buy some seeds. This is an exciting time to be on the Internet once again: We all have the ability to participate in this new social stack, change the rules of our industry and make a difference in the lives of many. Perhaps, next year, we will have a host of companies making real money in this new internet and a bunch of new businesses vying to present – signs of a new industry in the making.
