Certain properties of matter will not change, no matter the amount of the substance. This is called an intensive property. Can you think of other things that would not change?

3. What properties did change during the lab?
These things are considered extensive properties because they depend upon the amount of a substance. Remember extra matters!

You boil water to make macaroni and cheese

You light a piece of magnesium on fire and it emits a bright light
