SITUATION
Trust Science wanted to consolidate multiple platforms and technologies onto a single stack. Although Amazon Web Services had reasonable .NET SDK, it wasn’t a first-class experience and there was little integration between services. Trust Science’s primary concern was overall development velocity. It wanted to spend more time building functionality and less time configuring, deploying, and integrating cloud services to work with each other.

Backed by thousands of public and private data points, parents can now check how trustworthy a babysitter is, recruiters can check if a job applicant will be a good fit, and lenders can check if a borrower can be trusted to pay back a loan and up to what value.
SOLUTION
Trust Science used to deal with centralized message queues, repositories, and other common platform architectural issues that were wildly inefficient and difficult to manage. It decided to migrate to Microsoft Azure Service Fabric to simplify its architecture and keep data and queues local to the services working with them. Now Trust Science uses blazing-fast Azure DocumentDB, Azure Search, and REST-based Azure Blob Storage, which significantly improves efficiency. As a result, less time is spent solving throughput and contention issues and there’s a simple path to scale out through partitioning.
