Professional Staff Matthew Mulville, Sr. Associate Dean of Students
Mark Piatkowski, Associate Director of Student Life Phil Ciallela, Assistant Director of Student Life Caitlin Daley, Housing Coordinator A little bit about our staff, we consist of 6 hall directors who are graduate students in our College Student Personnel program who are study for careers in Student Affairs. They supervise 50 resident assistants who range from sophomores to graduate students. The hall directors and RAs live on the floors and in the buildings and act as resources for the resident student population. They participate in a 2 week training program in August that prepares them to work with current issues and trends that students face today. There is a hall director and professional staff member on-call 24 hours a day everyday of the year. Al, Jen and I all live, literally, across the street from the campus so that we are always nearby in case of an emergency. I would like to bring Jen Lenfant up now to talk a little bit about some of our services and important housing information.

Work Orders The work order system is in the portal
Where you live & what floor… Bosch Hall: BH-01, BH-02, BH-03, etc. Frisch Hall: FH-01, FH-02, FH-03, etc. Delavan: DTA-01, DTC-02, DTD-03, etc. Dugan: DG-01, DG-02, DG-03, etc. Village: VTA-01, VTC-02, VTD-03 Housing assignments will be completed after the last Orientation session which occurs in mid-July. The reason we wait until then is that it gives students a chance to meet people at Orientation and request to live together. So, if you meet someone while you’re here and would like to live together just let me know before you leave. It’s important each roommate request each other. We will not match up roommates if only 1 person requests the other. I have some request cards here on the stage if you’d like to pick them up when we are done, just turn them in to me or drop them off at the ORL located in Eastwood hall. Assignments are done using the date of housing deposit as a guide to decide who gets into Eastwood or who gets a suite versus a double versus a triple. The earlier the deposit date the better your chances of getting your first preference, sort of a first come first serve approach. Once groups are made and roommates matched we take the average deposit date for the group and rank them from earliest to latest and then assign rooms in that order starting with Eastwood suites, then Bosch/Frisch suites then doubles etc… Due to the size of the incoming class 20 students with later deposit dates will be assigned to what originally were designed to be study rooms but have been converted into living space and approximately 30 students will be assigned to what we call triples. On each floor of Bosch and Frisch there are 2 double rooms that are larger than the standard double room because they are located near a stairwell. These rooms will be converted from housing 2 students to housing 3 students. Each student will have all the same furniture and individual internet access. Once the semester begins some students we think are coming will decide not come and some others will leave after they get here for various reasons. As space becomes available students in triples will be given the option of relocating to doubles or suites. Triple rooms will also have a reduced housing rate so if you are interested in saving some money and would like to request a triple room just let us know. Once the assignment process is complete we will mail you your assignment and roommate information in late July. I strongly encourage you to contact your new roommate(s) over the summer so that you get a chance to know each other. Its also a great way to discuss who is bringing what to the room so you can save money by agreeing to share some things; you don’t necessarily need 4 TVs or 4 microwaves. There will also be information that will lead you to more details on coming to the college, what to bring, check-in etc… We will be offering tours of each type of room, including study lounges and triples in Eastwood Hall and since Bosch and Frisch are identical we will be showing rooms in Bosch hall only, all tours will take place tomorrow between 10:30 – 11:15, simply go to the 4th floor of Eastwood during that time and we will be happy to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
