syl-la-ble A syllable is a part of a word pronounced as a unit.
The word ``syllable’’ has three syllables: syl-la-ble Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. There is a syllable pattern in a haiku of 5, 7, 5. That means the first line should have 5 syllables all together (5 claps) The second line should have 7 syllables all together (7 claps) The last line should also have 5 syllables like the first one (5 claps) Because Haikus are so short it is usually about something simple such as an animal, a season, something you own, a raindrop. It can be about anything, but it can’t be too difficult.
