1. PREP AT CHATSWOOD HILLS SS
If you are considering enrolling your child for Prep at Chatswood Hills SS, our Walk and Talk School Tours and our Prep Open Information Sessions are a great place for you to start:
School Talks and Tours are being held this term on Monday 3rd, 10th and 17th September, departing from Administration at 9:00am sharp.
During these informal tours, our Prep Transitions Coordinator or another member of our team will take you for a brief tour of our school (approximately 20 minutes) through classrooms, common areas and school facilities. No bookings are required and children are welcome to come along. If you are unable to make these tours, please contact Admin for an alternative time.
Prep Open Information Sessions.
We will be having an additional Prep Open Information Evening Session early in Term 4. Date TBC. These sessions are attended by our Prep Transitions Coordinator, Deputy Principal, Helping Hands and a P&C Representative. Come along and ask questions about our curriculum, Behaviour Policy, parent community, uniforms, classroom resource requirements and OHSC information.
TRANSITION TO PREP AT CHATSWOOD HILLS SS
Starting school marks an important milestone in the lives of children and their families. Familiarity with the school setting can assist children and families in making a successful adjustment to the school environment.
Our Prep Transition Program offers various opportunities for enrolled children and families to:
participate in school activities, make new friends, develop a support system with other families, access information , become familiar with our school, meet key staff and school community members, plan for your child’s prep year and ensure our school is the best fit for your family.
Prep Interviews have commenced. If you have enrolled your child and not yet scheduled an interview, please contact Admin.
Children and parents will be invited to attend an enrolment interview with our Deputy Principal for the purpose of collecting vital personal and family information. During this interview, the children will be doing some drawing, counting and visual discrimination activities with our Prep Transitions Coordinator or another Prep Teacher. These activities assist us with class formation and allow time for parents to chat uninterrupted with our Deputy Principal. They are not a test and no preparation is required for this.

Get Set for Prep Transition Sessions will be held every Monday throughout Term 4.
In these sessions, children are immersed in a learning experience with our Prep Transitions Coordinator while parents have an opportunity to chat with other parents and listen to informative guest speakers.
Get Set for Prep Newsletters will be ed every second Monday throughout Term 3 and 4
These newsletters offer advice, information and links to resources. They cover a range of topics relevant to child development and transition to school.
Classroom Orientation and Visits will be held at the end of Terms 3 and 4
Children will visit a Prep classroom and participate in engaging activities typical of what they might expect for next year.
Meet the Teacher Morning Tea will be held on the last Monday of Term 4
Families are invited to meet their child’s prep teacher while enjoying tea and biscuits and a play in the prep playground.
Tea and Tissues will be held on the first day of school, 2019
Parents are encouraged to meet at the Hall to share their emotions and experiences with other prep parents. Tea and tissues will be readily available!
