A piece of thick paper (e.g. 8.5”x11”); A pencil OR a fine Sharpie marker

Start with a curvy, horizontal LINE across the middle of the page

Connect the dots with curved lines

Use curved lines to create one column TIPS: Keep sections at least as wide as your pinky finger Go right of the edge of the page

Work at every-other column first Then fill in the ‘in between’ columns

The Medium…Coloured Pencil
TINT = lighter value of a colour SHADE = darker value of a colour

Colouring for 3D Effect…
VALUE… light and dark TINTS = lighter (e.g. highlights) SHADES = darker value (e.g. shadows)
