Nationalism A movement in which a group requests to be recognized as a nation, and capable of self government. Nationalism is happening in many of the colonies.

Is Slavery Still Around?
By 1850 colonization in North and South America was ending. In North America human rights activists were putting a stop to slavery one colony at a time.

Reasons to Renew Colonization
Economic: Cheap goods Social : Get rid of excess population by forcing them to move to Africa or Asia. Political: Increase human influence on the world.

Imperialism When a state tries to extend its rule over other countries. Europe was doing this to Africa & Asia.

Resistance African colonies were upset at the Europeans influence.
Europeans were discriminating against the African & Asian peoples. The colonies lead protests and civil wars against the Europeans.
