1 CAR RALLY PROCEDURES Check into the travellers net when leaving home (frequency listed in the roster notes and generally the callsign used is VK1WI On arrival at the meet point let HQ/Control (VK1WI) know you are at the meet point At the meet point make yourself known to the officials and sign in on their paper work. Notify HQ/Control when you are leaving the meet point and being taken to your check point by the officials When you arrive at the check point notify HQ/Control (if possible) and say you will call in for final radio check when set up at your final check point position do your radio check. Once you have set up and done your radio check assume the callsign of your check point EG: Stage 1 Start START POINT Set up as close as possible to the start control. Your job is to record on the paper work the start time of the competitors or time other vehicles enter the stage and radio it in SOS POINT Set up your location as directed by the officials. Your job is to call in the competitor number and time or the time other vehicles that pass your location and any relevant information STOP POINT Set up as close as possible the timing control officials. (there may be also flying finish timing control do not set up there) Your job is to record the competitors official finish time given to you by the officials and radio it in to HQ. When advised by the officials, radio in that the stage is AMBER or GREEN or BLACK .If a car goes missing interrogate the crew of the next car into control to find out if has been seen and where. Radio the details to control If an incident occurs on your stage, radio it in to HQ as an URGENT message. IF you hear an URGENT message on your stage, all operators should CEASE sending traffic until HQ advises you to resume. You should still continue to record vehicles and times Once you have been released from your stage and packed up, advise HQ that you are leaving your check point. Resume your normal callsign Advise HQ on the travellers net frequency when you are out of the forest and back on the black top or main road When you arrive home let HQ or the travellers net operator know you have arrived home

2 RALLY PROGRESS Once you have set up monitor the traffic on the net. At some point HQ will issue a time check for the check points At some point an Official or Observers car will enter the stage. Record the time that you see it. Depending on the length of the stage you may also see an ambulance or FIV (safety) vehicle enter the stage, record their times as well The next vehicle entering the stage should be the “000” Triple Zero car The next vehicle entering the stage should be the “00” Double Zero car. When it reaches the stop point it will advises the officials if the stage is AMBER The next vehicle entering the stage should be the “0” Zero car. When it reaches the stop control it advises the officials that stage is GREEN this means the stage is clear for the competition to start When all the competitors have run through the stage a “SWEEP” vehicle enters the stage. It could be designated sweep 1 or sweep 2. When it reaches the stop control it advises the officials that the stage is BLACK and is no longer operational
