What are Pie Charts You might know them from math class as pie graphs
Microsoft PowerPoint calls graphs “charts” A pie chart shows a percentage of a whole Percentages usually add up to 100 © TechCheck, 2016

Your task… Follow the steps on slides 4 and 5 to insert and format a Chart on slide 6 I’ve created an example for you on slide 7 On slide 9 create one more pie chart of your choice – any design, colors, layout…whatever you want! (I’m grading you on both slides 6 & 9) © TechCheck, 2016

Chart Style should be Style 7 [Chart Tools Menu – Design Tab]
Insert a Chart on slide 6, make it a 3D Pie Chart [Insert Menu – Insert Chart] Type in whatever data you want your chart to show your audience (refer to my example) Chart Style should be Style 7 [Chart Tools Menu – Design Tab] Show your chart data labels on the outside end [Chart Tools Menu – Design Tab – Add Chart Element – Data Labels] Insert a picture into one of the pie slices [Find an image on google images (labeled for reuse) – Save it to your desktop – click on one pie chart slice - Chart Tools Menu – Format Tab – Shape Fill – Picture – Picture from File – Browse for file] © TechCheck, 2016

Do NOT change the slide design theme
Show your chart legend on the right [Chart Tools Menu – Design Tab – Add Chart Element – Legend] Resize the entire chart to have a height of 5” and a width of 7” [Select the entire chart - Chart Tools Menu – Format Tab – Size group] Do NOT change the slide design theme Do a spelling and grammar check [Review Tab] Save the file as “Last Name + First Name + Pie Charts” and send it to me for grading © TechCheck, 2016

Extension Activity On slide 9, create another Pie Chart of your own design – make it look fantastic. Make sure the legend and title are large and easy to read. Do a spelling and grammar check please. Another example is on slide 10 © TechCheck, 2016
