About Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS)

About SRNS Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC. (SRNS) is the Management and Operating Contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, SC. SRNS, a Fluor Partnership with Newport News Nuclear and Honeywell, employs about 5,000 people. The DOE’s 310-square-mile SRS is located in the central Savannah River region of South Carolina. The Site has over 15,000 acres devoted to industrial facilities, research laboratories and supporting infrastructure.

Use of Page and Field Configurator
8
Defaulting Values Use Case:
Return to Vendor/Supplier is a problematic area for SRS. The RTV needs to be entered correctly and there are many handoffs during the process. SRS only wants to use an RTV for Credit and Replace, not Exchange. If it is not entered correctly, downstream processing is not smooth, causing more work on the back end. Options without Page and Field Configurator Training- Users were trained but continue to make the error Customize- Remove Exchange from the drop down. Though customization is low complexity, it was not desired. Options with Page and Field Configurator Default Return Action to Replace User can select Credit as needed User can still select Exchange, but it is less likely with the default

Page Labels Use Case: Options without Page and Field Configurator
In the Define Item page, there are delivered custom fields reserved for an organization’s use. SRS has a purpose for several fields and wanted the page/field label to reflect those purposes. Options without Page and Field Configurator Customize- Change the page/field label to the desired label. Though customization is low complexity, it was not desired. Options with Page and Field Configurator Change page/field label to reflect the desired label.

Page Labels
12
However… During testing:
It was realized that the labels should match on the Review Items page (additional configuration) PS Query does not reflect the configured label (makes sense) Page and Field Configurator currently only works on Classic and Classic Plus pages. Not all fields on component could be found to use as criteria. But… Page and Field Configurator is GREAT for some things, may want to re-consider others.

App Designer and Application Data Set Utilized
App Designer project to include Related Content Services for each component configured. Note, include related definitions: Content Configurations Content Layout ADS using ADS definition EOCC_CONFIGURATION for each component configured

Life Cycle Management Approach
Verification of Page and Field Configurator use will need to be included as part of a PUM Image Update project to assess impacts. The tool provides a mechanism to validate the Component; but provides very limited information.

May seem small, but impactful

MOSC Ideas to Support
22
Extend Page and Field Configuration tool to Search Records
If you use the "Modify Label" feature you are enabled to change the page label, but this does not transfer to the Search record for the component where a modified label is on the search record.
23
Page and Field Configurator- Enable HyperLink when Page is Display Only
Page and Field configurator (PFC) does support hyperlinks and push buttons. The actions supported in PFC are Hiding links, Disabling Links & Changing Labels. However, it currently doesn’t support having the entire page display only and then choosing hyperlinks or any other field to be active. It would be great to Enable HyperLinks when Page is Display Only instead of customizing the Page.Field.
24
Page and Field Configurator Improvement suggestions
Allow selection of Multiple fields at once - In case we have to disable multiple fields from a page, currently we have to select one field at a time. It will be useful if a checkbox is added on the fields list grid to select multiple fields in one go. Display Record field in the selected fields list instead of just the field name. When a page has same field names from different record, this can really help in avoiding confusion.
25
Page and Field Configurator - Improve criteria options
Logic operations – AND/OR More criteria options – Begins with, Between, Contains This Idea is currently Under Review by Oracle!!!
26
Page and Field Configurator - Add defer processing checkbox
Request to add defer processing as an option in Page and Field Configurator.
