2. What is a QEP? Quality Enhancement Plan
A core requirement for SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation:
“. . . a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning” (SACS Handbook for Reaffirmation of Accreditation, 2007, p. 3).

3. QEP Teams Pre-Planning Team (PPT) Topic Selection Team (TST)
Develops a topic selection plan and timeline
Topic Selection Team (TST)
Identifies a topic based on broad input
QEP Development Team (QEP-DT)
Writes up the 100-page QEP document (Due to SACS January 2013)
QEP Implementation Team (QEP-IT)
Implements the QEP and prepares impact report (Due to SACS December 2017)

4. Pre-Planning Team (PPT) Process
Nov. 20: PPT met with representatives from 3 universities who completed the QEP (NKU, EKU, & U of L) & launched QEP Website
Dec. 4: PPT prepared a topic selection process draft to be reviewed by Dr. Robert Armacost (QEP consultant)
Dec : PPT met with Dr. Armacost for advice on topic selection process draft
Jan. 11: PPT finalized the topic selection process

5. Next Steps (Feb – April 2010)
Identify Topic Selection Team (TST) Members
Identify QEP Leadership Team
Launch PR Campaign to Generate Campus Enthusiasm about QEP Topic Selection
Collect and Examine Existing Assessment Data
Invite Broad Input Regarding Potential “big ideas”
