New ZERO days cut off sell & report policy and availability report per suite type
Based on the comments from Product & Operations Managers, we made 2 new availability reports, this is an explanation step by step of how to read these reports. Either print or on-line at
We have separated the availability report (calendar format) and the new changes are on the availability report (list format) that we made after your valued recommendations.
THE LIST (Format)

2. This is the new version of the close out and reopened dates report
(List Format)
Now we have the properties but in a horizontal way
Each property has 3 sections, Reopened, No Arrivals & Close out
How do I know that STO is a standard ocean view????
Lets see this example:
Gran Porto Real has a reopened date between the last report & this, in STO (Standard Ocean view) category for 2008-Mar-17

You have this information in your contracts, any way you can also find it at the bottom of the report.

3. REMEMBER
Please do not forget that this report shows only the new changes that we have made between the last report and the new one, this way you will make the changes in your system, but only the new changes, you can see in a fast way just the dates and suite category codes that you have to update.
The big difference between the last format and this new one is that you will see only the new changes and you will know if we have a reopened date instead of comparing the last report and the new one..
With this new format you do not have to compare the previous report with the new one.
You can be sure that we will send just the changes that we made after the last report was sent.

4. PREVIOUS VERSION VS NEW VERSION
Here we have the suite category code.
We used to mark the new closed out dates with a red color, but the old closed out dates still remained on the new report (old version), now this new report shows only the changes made after the last report (new version).
With the old report, we did not know a reopened date, but here we have it
This report shows only the new closed out dates, the new reopened days and the new closed out days only for arrivals. To update our systems we have to use this one instead of the old one.

6. Overview To review this report, let us start with the general concept
What we pretend with this report, is that you can see in an easy and fast way if we have availability or not and in which categoty, and you will have the opportunity to convert your unsold allotment to an available category if we were closed out, applying ZERO DAYS CUT OFF.

7. The calendar report has a block per hotel and each hotel has its own suite category codes (Description at the bottom).
Structure
In the left side we have the month and the day of the week
And we have the same in the right side.
If we need to know the availability on Wednesday January 16th on a Junior suite ocean front (JRF) , we just have to seek the number and follow the line and column.
Here we can see the number of the day (as a calendar), for example here we have GRAN PORTO REAL from January 8th to 31st, the numbers are repeated because it is a column per suite category code.

8. WHAT DOES THE COLOR MEAN?
The area with out color means that it is open and you can sell and report
It is not too complicated. If the day has a grey background it is closed and If it has a frame it is closed only for arrivals (ok stays through)
The difference between these two grey backgrounds is that in THE ROYAL in Cancun the grey means new closed out (bold, red and cursive), and the grey background in THE ROYAL In Playa del Carmen means formerly closed out (regular font and black)
What is the GREY COLOR?, it means that we are closed out.
These two days are opened, but 29th was recently reopened.
This frame in day ten means that you can book for arrivals from 7 to 9,but NOT on the 10th, but the arrivals can be 5 to 7 nights (ok stays through)

9. Example
Please imagine that you need a Junior suite for 3 nights from December 12th to December 15th in GRAN PORTO REAL
We need to find the property
Then find the specific suite category code (JRS for junior suite)
Now, just check the calendar and if it has no color, you can book and sell and report with ZERO DAYS CUT OFF
