Some items to consider regarding ICD 10:
If you are currently using DSM-5 this will be an easy transition. DSM 5 includes the same specificity that ICD 10 does. Cross walks: CSI will provide every clinician with a Behavioral Health Crosswalk. This cross walk will assist providers in choosing the correct diagnosis. Choosing the correct ICD 10 diagnosis is in coordination with detailed and accurate documentation. Never has documentation been more important than with ICD 10. Documentation must support the diagnosis code you are using for that service.

How should I proceed? View the power point provided by our clinical director. Go to the CSI website at and click on the tab for ICD You will find a ICD 10 widget that allows you to put in the ICD 9 code and it will give you all your options for ICD 10. On the website you will also find many links that will further explain what ICD 10 is and how to incorporate it after October 1st. Start practicing now. Code your billing tickets with both ICD 9 and ICD 10. During the last two weeks of September providers are asked to submit 5 billing tickets along with progress notes that they have coded in both ICD 9 and ICD 10 to the billing department for review. We will have a clinical provider along with a biller review your notes and Diagnosis code and give you feedback.
