Suitcase Carry

2. A With the butt of the ladder facing the direction of travel the firefighters position themselves on the same side of the ladder facing in the direction of travel; one firefighter is at the tip and one is at the butt.

3. B The tip firefighter controls the operation and
gives the commands. On command, both
firefighters raise the ladder to stand on one beam.

4. C Grasping the upper ladder beam with the hand
closest to the ladder, in unison, the firefighters lift
and carry the ladder to the objective as if it were a suitcase.

carry, with the additional person taking position
in the middle of the ladder.
