The only kind of map that can show the Earth accurately is a globe.

Projections are ways of transferring the curved surface of the Earth onto a flat map.

Arthur Robinson created the Robinson Projection Map – the shape and size of the continents near the equator are accurate, but the water areas and lands near the poles are distorted to match the shape of the map.
