You are essentially being asked to revise and edit the work of an unspecified writer. You will be asked to revise text for “development, organization, and effective use of language” as well as edit for proper grammar, usage and mechanics.
“The best answer to each question represents how a writer should develop, organize, and use language in a multiparagraph passage”.
Most of the questions will give you three alternatives to the underlined portion of text, along with an option to make no changes.
