Highways England’s performance remains good across a range of measures 2 The company has missed its targets on road user satisfaction and network condition 3 It has improved its planning of major improvements 4 There is further work for the company to do to improve its asset management

How is Highways England performing in RIS1?
Performance remains good across a range of measures Major schemes generally being delivered to plan 98.4% available (target of 97%) 85.9% incidents cleared in an hour (target of 85%) Traffic kept flowing Becoming more efficient £169m efficiencies achieved to date (ahead of plan, road period target of £1.2bn)

How is Highways England performing in RIS1?
Some areas for attention Network condition below target – improvement plan in place 94.3% in good condition (target of 95%) User satisfaction below target – customer service plan developed 89.1% satisfaction (target of 90%)

Retain 5 year funding and outcomes package Retain a balanced package of outcomes / outputs Reflect diverse road user and stakeholder requirements Encourage performance in-the-round Challenging but deliverable
