3. Discussion Director
Discussion Director: Your job is to write down some good questions that you think your group with want to discuss. Your questions should be meaningful. Do not worry about details, but make the questions interesting.
Three of your questions should start with how, why or if.
Sample Questions
How long do you think Ulrich and Georg would survive if they had enough food and water?
If the tree did not fall on Ulrich and Georg, do you think they would have become friends?

4. Connector: Your job is to find connections between the book and the
world outside.

5. Passage Picker:
Your job is to pick good parts of the story that you want to read aloud and discuss with your group.
These parts can be:
a good part
a funny part
a scary part
an interesting part
some good writing
a good description

6. Word Finder
Your job is to look for special words in the story. These can be:
new
strange
interesting
different
funny
important
special

7. Artful Artist
Your job is to draw anything about the story that you liked.
It could be:
The setting
A character
A problem
An exciting part
A surprise
Anything else
A prediction of what will happen next
