Japan Believed in Shintoism and Zen Buddhism which are polytheistic
Japan’s trade had flourished and they had a surplus of food You could move up in social classes if you married a higher person Samurais had light armor and their swords were light and sharp Women had many rights

Europe Believed in Christianity, which is monotheistic
Lower classes couldn’t move up in social classes Knights had very heavy armor and their swords weren’t very sharp Knights often had low literacy Knights were captured and traded back for ransom Women had few rights

Both Had a code they lived by (Bushido v. Chivalry)
Had social classes that they were a part of (king/church, nobles, knights, serfs; emperor, shogun, daimyo, samurai, peasants, merchants/artisans) Could kill commoners Landowners were powerful
