The pyrheliophoro was invented in 1900 by portougese scientiste Manuel António Gomes known as Father Himalaya.

He was a priest, a vegetarian, a Nature lover, a self trained biologist and a practitioner of natural medicine. He became member of the Portuguese Science Academy. He died in in Portugal.

This invention way extremely important because it was the base of the creation of the first solar collectors and photovoltaic modules. Despite this enormous success, the Pyrheliophoro has never been commercialised.
