2
15 The idols of the nations are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands.
16 They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see. (Psalms 135:15-16)
3
17 They have ears but cannot hear, and mouths but cannot breathe.
18 And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. (Psalms 135:17-18)

THE IDOLS OF THE WORLD ARE VAIN
Every man has a god. 2 You shall have no other gods before me. (Ex 20:2) An idol is an object of worship. The idols are vain, useless.

OBSERVATIONS OF THIS PSALM
When a person makes a god, he makes it like himself; thus he in reality is worshipping himself. All idols a man makes are less than himself. 16 They have mouths but cannot speak… (Psa 135:16)
6
A man becomes like his god.
18 And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. (Psa 135:18)
7
When God remakes a man, He makes him more than he was.
2 We shall be like him. (1 John 3:2 NIV) 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, (Ro 8:29 NLT)
8
13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. (Eph 4:13 NLT)
9
18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord--who is the Spirit--makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. (2 Co 3:18 NIV)

John’s final warning in his 1st epistle –
