2 Plant Poster Assignment
Understanding xylem, phloem and photosynthesis!

3 Plant Poster Project You will create a poster to help you review plant facts, while being creative and following directions! In the trunk, include information about xylem and phloem, and show the direction of movement in these tubes. In the leaves, include facts about photosynthesis and transportation system and vascular structure.

4 Materials You may use: 1 white construction paper
You will receive: 1 white construction paper You may use: markers, crayons, coloring pencils, scissors, glue sticks, tape, your imagination!

5 Write facts on your sheet of green leaves.
Use the directions here to write on each of your leaves. You may not cut leaves until I have checked your facts.

6 Cut your leaves apart.

7 Name Write your first and last name, and the period #, in the
TOP LEFT CORNER.

8 Draw a tree trunk. Remember: Leave space to arrange the leaves LATER where you want them to go.

9 Xylem and Phloem Strips
Write xylem facts on one arrow, and phloem facts on another arrow. Make an arrow tip to show the direction the materials flow.

10 Add roots and grass line at the bottom.

11 Glue on the leaves. USE VERY LITTLE GLUE! Add branches.

12 Color in the tree, sun, grass, sky, etc.

13 Neatly label parts of the tree and things that are needed for photosynthesis.

14 Be ready to turn in your poster at the end of class tomorrow!
Make sure your poster reflects work you are proud to turn in!
