The infinitive The infinitive is the form of the verb before it is conjugated You can tell a verb is in the infinitive because it still has the –ER on the end

En bref: When there are two verbs in a sentence the first one is conjugated and the second one stays in the « Infinitif » (-ER form).

Verbe + infinitif In French when the verbs aimer, adorer, and détester are followed by another verb, the second verb is in the infinitive form. Il aime rigoler. J’adore écouter la radio. On déteste travailler. 2. In a negative sentence, the ne… pas goes around the first verb. Vous n’aimez pas travailler?
