Unconditional and conditional logistic regression using additive terms for each of the variants in the entire major histocompatibility complex (MHC) region have identified HLA-DRβ1 amino acid positions 11 (or 13), 71 (or 57), and 74, HLA-B amino acid position 9, HLA-DPβ1 amino acid position 9, and HLA-A amino acid position 77 to be associated with anti-citrullinated protein autoantibody-positive rheumatoid arthritis. These amino acid positions are highlighted in coloured spheres within the epitope-binding grooves of HLA molecules. Kim, K. et al.
