Size A gray tiger salamander grows to be centimeters and a maximum of 30 centimeters.

Appearance The gray tiger salamander is green/grey with black stripes. It is slimy.

Special Body Part The gray tiger salamander’s tail can regrow if it falls off.

What It Eats The gray tiger salamander eats insects, worms, spiders, slugs, and other amphibians.

Habitat The gray tiger salamander lives under rocks and logs and places like that.

What it does in the winter
In the winter it buries itself under the dirt and hibernates.

Life Cycle They start out in an egg and then they hatch when they grow there arms and legs, and then they grow up. Eventually they die.

Enemies and protection
The gray tiger salamander enemy is a pelican. They protect themself with their camouflage skin.

Other Information The gray tiger salamanders use their smell for locating others in ponds and streams.
