Is it OK to start a sentence with the word ‘Because’? Have you ever heard a teacher say that is isn’t?

It’s perfectly fine to start a sentence with ‘Because’. However, you have to be careful!!

The word ‘Because’ is a conjunction—a subordinating conjunction. Whenever you start a sentence with a subordinating conjunction like ‘Because’, you must take special care!

Of course, the second sentence is correct. The reason— A sentence must have THREE characteristics to be a COMLETE SENTENCE.

Even a single word can be a sentence. For example, if I looked at you and said “Jump!” Subject—You Verb – Jump Idea -- **BOING**

Keep this rule in mind— If you start a sentence with ‘Because’, make sure there is a comma at the end of that clause (the dependent clause).
