Out of the depths (1-2) Lord, hear My voice In times of despair, don’t forget to pray – 2 Chronicles 6:19-22, 7:14 Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:7 Our Forgiveness, 1 John 1:9, Acts 8:22

4 If you mark my iniquities, who can stand
We cannot save ourselves! Romans 3:10-11, 3:23, 6:23; Isaiah 64:6. Psalm 51:17, 34:18 Genuine repentance begins with realization, Matthew 5:3, Luke 18:13

5 Who can stand? (3-4) In the LORD is forgiveness
Declared to Israel, Exodus 34:6-7, Ezekiel 33:11 Declared to us, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 John 2:1-2 That you may be feared – to hallow, reverence. We are grateful for His goodness, etc. Hebrews 12:28-29, Romans 2:4, 1 John 4:19

6 Waiting is a part of life. Sometimes intense, apprehensive.
I wait for the LORD (5-6) Waiting is a part of life. Sometimes intense, apprehensive. But we STILL WAIT! Matthew 6:25, Philippians 4:6 In His word is our hope! Psalm 119:74, 9, 104

7 I wait for the LORD (5-6) What about struggles with sin? Galatians 5:16-17, Romans 7:22-25 We keep fighting to win! Galatians 6:9, Luke 13:24 1 John 5:4-5 We keep praying – cf. Matthew 6:12-13 Such struggles make us stronger Romans 5:3-4, 12:21

8 God bears long with us Luke 18:7, cf. 2 Peter 3:9
I wait for the LORD (5-6) God bears long with us Luke 18:7, cf. 2 Peter 3:9 We still cannot give up! - consequences are still there Patience truly is a virtue, James 5:7-8, 11; Romans 2:7, Hebrews 6:12

9 Hope in the LORD (7-8) The psalmist now turns to the nation. He does not keep his hope to himself! Hebrews 6:19, Romans 5:1-5 NOTE: Even if society totally turns against God and us, they cannot take away our hope!

10 Hope in the LORD (7-8) With Him there is mercy! With Him is abundant redemption – deliverance, Psalm 111:9-10 Romans 3:24, Ephesians 1:7, Titus 2:14

11 As with Israel, our hope is through our patiently waiting for His redemption.
But such redemption calls for obedience – Romans 6:17
