12/6/2018 May 2008 Participants, Patents, and Duty to Inform All participants in this meeting have certain obligations under the IEEE-SA Patent Policy. 12/6/2018 May 2008 Other Guidelines for IEEE WG Meetings All IEEE-SA standards meetings shall be conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, including antitrust and competition laws. Don’t discuss the interpretation, validity, or essentiality of patents/patent claims. Don’t discuss specific license rates, terms, or conditions. Relative costs, including licensing costs of essential patent claims, of different technical approaches may be discussed in standards development meetings. Technical considerations remain primary focus Don’t discuss or engage in the fixing of product prices, allocation of customers, or division of sales markets. Don’t discuss the status or substance of ongoing or threatened litigation. Don’t be silent if inappropriate topics are discussed … do formally object. 12/6/2018 May 2008 P&P – TG Elections ( r4) 3.2 Task Group Chair The TG Chair shall be appointed by the WG Chair and confirmed by a WG majority approval. The TG Chair is re-affirmed every 2 years: one session after the WG Chair is elected. The TG Chair is required to confirm that the function of secretary is performed for each TG meeting. TG meetings are not allowed to function without a secretary. 3.3 Task Group Vice-Chair TG Vice-Chair is elected by a WG majority approval.  The TG Vice-Chair is reaffirmed every 2 years; one session after the WG Chair is elected. 3.4 Task Group Secretary The TG Secretary shall be appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG motion that is approved with a minimum 50% majority. The TG Secretary is re-affirmed every 2 years; one session after the WG Chair is elected. The minutes of meetings taken by the Secretary (or designee) are to be provided to the TG Chair in time to be available to the WG Chair for publication one week after close of the session. The minutes of the meeting are to include documents produced by the voting process and document list. See IEEE® Standards Companion for details on content and form of minutes. 3.5 Task Group Technical Editor The TG Technical Editor shall be appointed by the TG Chair and confirmed by a TG majority approval.
