You have to research local businesses to see if there is a gap in the local market.
You need to consider both the current business trends and current business environment (factors).
You need to produce a presentation summarizing the local business environment (factors).
You need to produce a leaflet assessing the factors and trends that may affect your business idea.
You have to keep a list of your sources of information .

2. Assignment 1 – Break down
Firstly, research and collect information on the local and national factors which affect the business environment - (download the source list document in moodle to show what and where you got your information from).
Secondly, produce a presentation (PowerPoint) that has information on how the following factors can affect a start up business:
- Local factors (e.g. competitors, etc.)
- National factors (e.g. political, etc.)

Thirdly, produce a leaflet (Word or DTP) to inform your investors about current trends and how they affect a start up business. So, you need to explain what the following are and how it will impact on your start up business :
- Social trends
- Technology trends
- Ethical Trends
- Environmental trends

Thirdly cont.., To support your evidence you need to show how trends have affected another local business similar to yours.
You have to select two trends and compare it to your business by identifying the similarities of how they impacted on that business, as well as the differences between that business and yours.
