7 Your Parish Council Team

8 We have finally after more than 2 years managed to complete the registration of the Recreation Ground i.e. the Cricket Ground in the ownership of the Great Horwood Recreation Trust of which the Parish Council is the sole trustee.

9 Following are a few improvements that we have made in the village over the past year.
Planters at the 5 main entrances to the parish. MVAS – speed activated signs with 4 locations installed. The Sun Dial which had previously been sited on The Green was refurbished and presented to the school.

10 Contd. Give way Signs in Singleborough lane at the junction with Pilch Lane. Hand rail on the slope outside 2/4 Nash Road Balance Triple Beams and Pods installed on Horwode Pece. Installation of 6 metal gates on footpath 9.

12 Planning Committee Cllrs. Mayne, Scholtens, Lamberton, Margerrison, Gilbey 29 Planning Applications considered in the year. 3 Objected to of which 2 were subsequently approved by AVDC. Out of the 29, 3 were withdrawn, 3 were rejected by AVDC, 4 are pending and 19 were approved. The new policy introduced last year by AVDC has been confirmed as permanent and so we are required to be represented at the Development Control Committee in Aylesbury when we take an opposite view from the officers on a planning application.

13 Horwode Pece Recreation Ground
Cllrs. Mayne and Porritt continued as the nominated Parish Council Trustees on the Great Horwood and Singleborough Recreation Trust. The Council continue to allocate around £3,500 each year to maintain, improve and insure it. Village Hall Cllrs Porritt and Lamberton are the Parish Council representatives on the Village Hall Committee.

14 BCC Local Area Forum Funding
Last Year The Youth Club received funds allowing them to book a number of outside activities. The Balance beams and Pods on Horwode Pece were paid for by a grant of more than £2000

15 BCC Local Area Forum Funding
This Year The Youth Club has been granted £2375 so that once again it is able to book a number of outside activities.

16 Neighbourhood Watch A big thank you to Ted Hadlow for his many, many years as the face of Neighbourhood Watch in the village. ANY VOLUNTEERS?

21 Donations budgeted for 2014/15
The Council’s agreed budget for 2014/15 includes the following budgeted donations:- Great Horwood Silver Band £250 Winslow and District Community Bus £250 Focus £250 Village Hall £250 Great Horwood and Singleborough Youth Club £250 St James Church for Grass Cutting £250. 22 Organisations We have continued to be active members of a number of organisations in order to ensure that the voice of Great Horwood is heard across North Bucks. These organisations are:- BCC Winslow and District Local Area Forum NBPPC (North Bucks Parish Planning Consortium) Winslow and District NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group) – BALC (Bucks Association of Local Councils) AVALC (Aylesbury Vale Association of Local Councils) AVDC Local Council Planning Liaison Group

24 Plans for 2014/15 Develop and finalise the Neighbourhood Plan in cooperation with the Neighbourhood Plan Team. Resist unwanted large scale development proposals by landowners and developers. Use the evidence from the MVAS’s to get Thames Valley Police to carry out speed enforcement measures and prosecute the offenders (Whether they live in the village or not) We have brought forward the budget of £1,000 to try to provide a memorial to the villagers who gave their lives for us during the Second World War.
