The Alligator is 18 ft. long. Females are smaller. It can also weigh lbs. The color of it can be black, dark green, and brown.

3 Lifespan Alligators can live years captive and years in the wild.

4 EATING HABITS Alligators are carnivores.
They eat fish, turtles, various mammals, birds, and other reptiles.

5 Population The population of the alligator is up to 25 million.
They live in Florida.

6 Range/Habitat The Alligator’s range and habitat is in Florida, Southern Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Alabama. They live in ponds, marshes, wetlands, and rivers.

7 Adaptations Claws help it rip and tear its prey.
Teeth help it eat its prey. The tail helps it to balance and swim.

8 Fun Fact The American Alligator goes faster in water than on land.

9 Endangered because… The American Alligator is endangered because of habitat loss and encounters with people.
