Cornwallis camped in Yorktown, bottled up on a peninsula by Lafayette 1781- French Admiral Francois de Grasse heading towards Chesapeake Bay instead of NY Washington & French secretly march troops 200 miles in 15 days from New York to Virginia Washington & Rochambeau, Lafayette, de Grasses meet near Yorktown

British General Clinton believes Washington is going to attack in New York 14,000 American & French troops vs. 7,500 Brits and Hessians in Virginia Cornwallis is cornered by troops and French Navy, Clinton helpless
