A mixture is matter made up of two or more substances that are combined physically.
Making a mixture is a physical change.
Most mixtures can be separated by hand. (Not All)

The water you drink has minerals mixed up in it.
A trombone is made of brass, a mixture of metals
Concrete is a mixture of gravel, sand, limestone, clay, and water.

4. Solutions
A mixture of sand and water looks different than a mixture of salt and water.
The salt seems to disappear.
Salt water is a special mixture called a solution.
A solution is a mixture in which the particles of one kind of matter are mixed evenly with the particles of other kinds of matter.

5. Solutions Do you taste the salt in the ocean?
You cannot see the salt because it has dissolved.
Dissolve means to mix completely by separating into particles that cannot be seen.
A solution is very difficult to separate.
