4 Student Service Learning (SL)
Service Learning is mandated by the state of Florida Students must complete 5 hours a 9 weeks (any extra hours will be added as extra credit, up to 15hrs) It can come from other school/non-school groups (Beta, Boy Scouts, etc.) Each 9 weeks is accompanied by a project to help students internalize their service learning Service learning is an important aspect of our community and really does go a long way. Please help portray a positive image of service learning.

5 Journey Through Justice
2 classes per day Students participate in a mock trial in front of a judge or an assistant View a trial Tour of the county courthouse In-depth lesson in the Florida Supreme Court Visit the Museum of FL History

6 Gradebook Updated at least once a week Z= missing X= excused
I= incomplete A zero on an assignment indicates that the child attempted the task, but received no points

Weekly plans and due dates can be found on the class calendar All assignments/projects done in class can be found on the class website ClassLink is used for class discussions, homework hand-in and their online textbook

8 History Fair This year’s theme is “Taking a Stand”
Due Dates: 2 sources (one primary and one secondary) are due about every two weeks Process Paper Final Project School Fair District Fair
