6. Group Activity: Peer Review
Exchange the 1st drafts of your rhetorical analysis essays with someone else in class who has not seen your first draft
Read through the student’s essay, marking where appropriate, and answer the following questions:
What is the student’s thesis? What is the overall evaluation of the source’s rhetoric?
What is the evaluation of each rhetorical appeal/strategy in the body paragraphs? (i.e. “logos was adequate, pathos was strong, ethos was lacking.” Use whatever evaluation language the student used).
How much evidence is provided for each body paragraph? Give a number and type. (i.e. pathos had 2 quotes and 2 paraphrase)
What is the best part of the student’s essay or the part you like the most?
What is the part of the student’s essay that needs the most revision?
