3. Project selection researching and reviewing areas of interest;
literature review;
methods of evaluating feasibility of projects,
initial critical analysis of the outline specification, selection of project option,
initiating a project logbook/diary,
estimating costs and resource implications,
identifying goals and limitations;
value of project,
rationale for selection,
agree roles
allocate responsibilities (individually with tutor/supervisor and within project group if appropriate)

4. Task One Select 3 areas of interest either individually or as a group.

Research and review these areas; do a headline review initially, narrowing down to one option.

5. Feasibility of projects
Why? What has kicked off the project? E.g. IT system is out of date
Alternative Solutions. E.g. redevelop existing, upgrade, replace, merge with other system
Feasibility “Can we deliver it on time and under budget?”
Research: online research, what have other companies done? How well did their solutions work?
Prototyping: build a sample including the highest risk
Time-boxing: Complete some of the tasks in your project plan and measure how long it took vs. planned.
Preferred solution:
most feasible to implement,
lowest risk,
have the highest confidence of delivering.
Reassess 
Check feasibility of all identified tasks
Produce feasibility report
