& AMERICORPS AND VOLUNTEERING

2. Purpose
To encourage transitioning service members (TSM) and their spouses to enter PACS employment
To help TSMs explore volunteer services as a valuable avenue for transitioning into civilian life.

3. Volunteer Organizations
The Mission Continues helps veterans who are adjusting to life at home find purpose through community impact.
Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.

4. AmeriCorps Volunteers
AmeriCorps Network: provides thousands of diverse service opportunities to ‘Get Things Done’ in every state and territory in the country
AmeriCorps NCC: travel the country making a difference in team-based service such as; helping communities before and after a natural disaster, work in national and regional parks and building homes for needy families
AmeriCorps Vista: makes a difference in serving for 1 full year in a full time position as a catalyst for change to eradicate poverty around the nation
