has raised requirements for new planning methodologies Evolution of Electric Power System and Electricity Supply Market New planning tools should have the following characteristics: deal with uncertainty deal explicitly with risks deal with multiple criteria enable consideration of multiple and diverse solutions use appropriate graphical and mathematical decision techniques use appropriate time schedules and planning horizons enable reuse of model, data and solutions

3 DECISION THEORY and RISK ANALYSIS APPLICATION
SPREAD Optimal Siting and Sizing of EG considering production costs, energy prices, power quality and cost of grid upgrading. PREDA finds the optimal network evolution during a prefixed study period in given scenario. PROLOCOGD finds the optimal EG arrangement in a fixed network structure. TEODORA takes into account uncertainties, characterized by subjective probabilities, in the knowledge of some parameters and different scenarios. DECISION THEORY and RISK ANALYSIS APPLICATION

SPREAD An Integrated Tool for Optimal Active Network Planning able to deal with uncertainties related to a massive EG penetration use of heuristic techniques developed by the authors useful tool for medium and long term planning (real size distribution networks) Integrated Planning Studies: Optimal network evolution with optimal amount of EG placed in the most convenient points by iterating this procedure.
