Spyware Spyware is a program that secretly records what you do on your computer. Most spyware is malicious, and aims to capture passwords, usernames and personal information to send over the internet to fraudsters. You may never know spyware is on the computer as it tends to work quietly in the background. The most common way to download spyware is when you download a program that has it secretly attached.

Cookies Cookies track your browsing activity and are a major privacy concern. All recent versions of popular browsers allow users to control cookies by : Setting their browsers to accept or reject all or some cookies Setting their browsers to prompt them each time a cookie is offered All browsers also have an option to delete all of the cookies on your computer.

Viruses A computer virus is a type of malware that, when executed, replicates by inserting copies of itself (possibly modified) into other computer programs, data files, or the boot sector of the hard drive; when this replication succeeds, the affected areas are then said to be "infected". Viruses often perform some type of harmful activity on infected hosts, such as stealing hard disk space or CPU time, accessing private information, corrupting data, displaying political or humorous messages on the user's screen, spamming their contacts, or logging their keystrokes.

Prevention & Staying Safe
Buying in-store, and downloading protection software is the best way to prevent any viruses or spyware. Anti-Spyware software is specifically made to prevent spyware. Anti-Virus software is specifically made to prevent viruses. To stay safe online, only download if you have the protection. Try to see if the website is reliable, by looking up reviews online. Always read what it asks, don’t just click ‘Agree’ or ‘Ok.’
