1 Motion

2 Where are you? Position describes the location of an object.
Uses either: 2 Reference Points Latitude and Longitude

3 What are Reference Points?
A Reference Point is a location or object used to describe the position of another object. You should always use 2 reference points. Find 2 reference points to describe the location of your chair. Be creative with your reference points but be accurate!

4 What is Motion? Motion is an object changing its position over time. Pushing or pulling on objects make them move. We know things move because the distance between the object and a reference point is increasing or decreasing.

5 Relative Motion Motion is Relative to the observer.
Ex: A person standing on the street will not think that a stop sign is moving compared to them. However, a person in a car passing the same stop sign will notice the sign getting closer and then further away as they pass it. Relative Motion Animation

6 What are Frames of Reference?
A Frame of Reference is an object in the background of a moving object used to prove that the moving object is changing position. Frames of reference must be stationary and in the background.
